943 - How do our bodies heal after a cut or injury?

Our bodies have an amazing healing system that works like this:

  1. Stop the bleeding: When you get a cut or injury, the blood starts to clot to stop the bleeding. This clot is like a special protective bandage that covers the wound.
  2. Clean the wound: Our body sends special white blood cells to the wound to fight off any bad bacteria that might be there. This helps keep the wound clean and prevents infection.
  3. Fix the damage: Our body then starts to fix the damage by rebuilding the skin and tissue around the wound. It's like patching up a tear in a favorite shirt.
  4. Grow new skin: New skin cells start to grow and cover the wound, making it stronger and healthier.
  5. Make it stronger: Our body also sends special growth factors to the wound to help make the new skin strong and healthy.

This whole process happens because of a group of superheroes called cells, proteins, and blood vessels that work together to make us feel better.
