938 - How does the immune system protect us from diseases?

Your immune system is like a superhero that keeps you safe from harm. It protects you from diseases by:

  1. Finding the bad guys (germs like bacteria and viruses) that try to infect you.
  2. Fighting the bad guys with special cells called white blood cells that can swallow them or make poison to kill them.
  3. Remembering the bad guys so if they come back, your immune system can fight them even faster next time.

Your immune system also helps you get better if you do get sick. It's an amazing system that works hard to keep you healthy and strong!
