896 - What are some of the challenges associated with using hydrogen as an energy source?
There are a few challenges with using hydrogen as an energy source.
Producing hydrogen is expensive: Most hydrogen is made from fossil fuels, like natural gas, which can be expensive and not very environmentally friendly.
Storing hydrogen is difficult: Hydrogen is a gas that needs to be kept under high pressure or low temperatures to store it safely, which can be tricky and costly.
Transporting hydrogen is hard: Hydrogen is difficult to transport through pipes, so it often needs to be moved in trucks or ships, which can be expensive and not very safe.
Not many places to refill hydrogen: There aren't many places where you can refill hydrogen, so it's not very convenient to use hydrogen as an energy source.
Making it can be polluting: If we make hydrogen from fossil fuels, it's not very good for the environment.
