Science Common Sense

862 - What is natural science, and how does it differ from other sciences?

Natural science is the study of the natural world, like our planet and the universe around us. It includes things like:

  1. Biology (study of living things like plants, animals, and humans)
  2. Chemistry (study of matter and how things react with each other)
  3. Physics (study of energy, motion, and the universe)
  4. Earth science (study of the Earth and its processes like weather, earthquakes, and rocks)

Natural science is different from other sciences because it focuses on things that happen naturally, rather than things made by humans. Some other sciences, like social sciences (study of people and societies) or computer science (study of computers and technology), focus on things made by humans.

Natural science also relies on observing, experimenting, and testing ideas, rather than just reading books or talking to people. This helps us figure out how the natural world works and know more about our planet and the universe.
