86 - How do we measure the temperature?

We measure temperature using a device called a thermometer. A thermometer has a liquid inside that expands or contracts when the temperature around it changes.

Here's how it works:

  1. When it's hot outside, the liquid expands and rises up the thermometer.
  2. When it's cold outside, the liquid contracts and goes down.
  3. The temperature is read by looking at the numbers on the thermometer.
