74 - Why do we sweat?

We sweat to cool down our bodies. When it's hot outside or we exercise, our body temperature rises. Sweat glands in our skin produce sweat, which is made up of water and other things. As the sweat evaporates (or dries up), it takes some of the heat away from our body, helping to keep us cool. It's like our body's own cooling system.
