634 - How can we conserve electricity at home?

There are many ways to conserve electricity at home. Here are some easy ones:

  1. Turn off lights, TVs, and computers when not in use. This is the simplest way to save electricity.
  2. Use energy-saving light bulbs, like LED bulbs. They use less energy and last longer.
  3. Unplug chargers and appliances when not in use. They still use a little electricity even when turned off.
  4. Use power strips to plug in electronics, and turn off the strip when not in use.
  5. Adjust the thermostat to use less energy for heating and cooling.
  6. Wash clothes in cold water to save energy used for hot water.
  7. Air dry clothes instead of using the dryer.
  8. Cook smart, use a microwave or toaster oven instead of the big oven.

Remember, every small step counts, and if everyone in your family helps, you can make a big difference in saving electricity!
