572 - How do stars form, and what are they made of?

Imagine a really big cloud of gas and dust in space. When this cloud collapses, it starts to spin faster and faster. As it spins, it gets smaller and smaller until it creates a big ball of hot, glowing gas.

This ball of gas is called a star. The main thing stars are made of is hydrogen, which is a type of gas. When hydrogen is heated up, it creates energy in the form of light and warmth, which is what makes the star shine.

Stars also have some heavier elements like helium, oxygen, and iron. These elements are made inside the star when it gets really hot and the hydrogen is transformed into these heavier elements.

Stars are like really big fireballs in space that light up the universe and give us warmth and light on Earth.
