549 - How do germs spread, and how can we prevent illness?
Germs spread in three main ways:
- Touching: When someone with germs on their hands touches you or something else, the germs can transfer to you.
- Air: When someone coughs or sneezes, germs go into the air and can be breathed in by others.
- Contaminated food and water: If food and water are contaminated with germs, people can get sick if they eat or drink them.
To prevent illness:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water.
- Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze.
- Keep surfaces clean by wiping them down with disinfectant.
- Eat healthy food and drink clean water.
- Avoid touching your face, especially your eyes, nose, and mouth.
