51 - Why do some fruits taste sweet and others sour?

The reason some fruits taste sweet and others sour is because of the different amounts of sugars and acids inside them.

When a fruit has more sugars like fructose and glucose, it tastes sweet. That's because sugars are yummy and our tongues love them.

On the other hand, when a fruit has more acids like citric acid or malic acid, it tastes sour. That's because acids are kind of like a wake-up call for our tongues - they make our mouths pucker.

Different fruits have different balances of sugars and acids, which is why some taste sweet like bananas and apples, while others taste sour like lemons and limes. It's like nature's own special recipe for making fruits taste unique and delicious!
