501 - What role does veterinary care play in a zoo?
In a zoo, veterinary care plays a very important role. Zoos have veterinarians (animal doctors) who take care of the health and well-being of the animals living there.
Their main jobs include:
- Giving check-ups to the animals to make sure they're healthy.
- Providing medicine and treatment when an animal gets sick or hurt.
- Making sure the animals have a safe and clean environment.
- Helping animals who are breeding or having babies.
- Performing surgeries when necessary.
The veterinarians work with zookeepers and other staff to keep the animals happy and healthy. This way, people visiting the zoo can enjoy seeing and learning about amazing animals from around the world.
