50 - How does pollution affect our planet?
Pollution is like a big hurt for our planet. It's when we release bad stuff into the air, water, and soil that can harm the Earth and its living things.
There are a few main types of pollution:
- Air pollution: bad stuff like exhaust from cars and factories goes up into the air, making it hard for us to breathe and also affecting the climate.
- Water pollution: when trash, chemicals, and other bad stuff get into our rivers, lakes, and oceans, it hurts the animals and plants that live there.
- Soil pollution: when chemicals and trash get into the ground, it can harm the plants that grow there and the animals that live in the soil.
Pollution can cause problems like:
- Making it hard to breathe
- Hurting animals and their homes
- Changing the weather
- Making people sick
But the good news is that we can all help to reduce pollution by recycling, using public transport, or carpooling, turning off lights when not in use, and throwing trash in the right places.
