475 - How do we use a microscope, and what can we see with it?
Using a microscope is fun and easy. Here's how:
- First, put a tiny sample on a slide. This can be a drop of water, a small insect, or even a piece of your hair.
- Next, place the slide under the microscope.
- Look through the lens, which is the part you look through. You might need to adjust it to see the sample clearly.
- Turn the knob on the side to make the sample bigger or smaller.
With a microscope, you can see really small things that you can't see with your eyes alone. Some cool things you can see with a microscope include:
- Tiny bugs like bacteria and protozoa -Cells in your body, like skin cells or blood cells
- Insect eggs and baby insects
- Tiny rocks and soil particles
- Even tiny things on your food, like salt crystals
Remember to always be gentle with the microscope and the things you're looking at.
