431 - What are the types of forces acting on objects in motion?

There are 5 main types of forces that act on objects in motion:

  1. Friction: This is the force that opposes motion between two surfaces that are touching, like when your shoe scrapes against the ground.

  2. Gravity: This is the force that pulls objects towards the center of the Earth, keeping you on the ground.

  3. Normal Force (or Ground Force): This is the force that pushes objects upwards, like when you stand on the ground and it pushes you up.

  4. Air Resistance: This is the force that pushes against objects moving through the air, like when a bicycle rider faces the wind.

  5. Applied Force: This is the force you or someone else applies to an object to move it, like when you push a door or throw a ball.
