405 - What is overfishing, and why is it a problem?
Overfishing is when people catch too many fish from the ocean, which can hurt the fish population and the environment.
Imagine if all the fish in the ocean were a big school, and fishermen kept taking too many fish out of the school. Eventually, there wouldn't be enough fish left for the school to survive.
This can lead to problems like:
- Not enough food for other ocean animals that depend on fish
- Not enough fish for people to eat in the future
- Damage to the ocean's ecosystem
We need to make sure to catch only what we need and leave enough fish for the ocean to stay healthy.
