40 - What is the difference between renewable and non-renewable energy?

There are two types of energy: renewable and non-renewable.

  1. Renewable energy is energy that comes from natural sources that can be replenished naturally, like:
  2. Sunlight (solar energy)
  3. Wind
  4. Water (hydro energy)
  5. Geothermal (heat from the Earth)

These sources will never run out and are good for the environment.

  1. Non-renewable energy is energy from sources that will eventually run out and can harm the environment, like:
  2. Fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas)
  3. Nuclear energy

These sources are not sustainable and can cause pollution.
