397 - What are the different zones of the ocean?

The ocean is divided into five main zones:

  1. Sunlight Zone: The top part of the ocean where sunlight can reach. This is where plants (like seaweed) and animals (like fish) that need sunlight live. This zone is about 200 meters deep.

  2. Twilight Zone: Below the Sunlight Zone, where sunlight is weak and you can still see a little bit of light. This zone is 200 to 1,000 meters deep.

  3. Midnight Zone: It's really dark here, and no sunlight can reach. It's also very pressurized and cold. This zone is 1,000 to 4,000 meters deep.

  4. Abyssal Zone: This is the deepest part of the ocean, but it's not too close to the bottom. It's dark and cold. This zone is 4,000 to 6,000 meters deep.

  5. Hadopelagic Zone (Deep-Sea Trench): This is the very bottom of the ocean, in deep trenches. It's extremely dark, cold, and pressurized. This zone is over 6,000 meters deep.

Each zone has unique animals and plants that are adapted to the conditions of that specific zone.
