363 - Why are rainforests considered critical for the planet?

Rainforests are like the 'lungs of the Earth'. They are very important for many reasons:

  1. Oxygen: They make a lot of oxygen that we need to breathe.
  2. Animal homes: Many animals, such as monkeys, birds, and butterflies, live in the rainforest.
  3. Food and medicine: Rainforests give us food like bananas, avocados, and chocolate. They also give us medicine to cure diseases.
  4. Keep the air clean: Rainforests help to keep the air clean by absorbing pollutants and bad gases like carbon dioxide.

We need to protect rainforests to keep our Earth healthy.
