34 - What is climate change?

Climate change is when the Earth's temperature is getting warmer. This is happening because of bad things people have done to the environment, like:

  1. Burning fossil fuels (like gasoline and coal) which releases bad gases into the air.
  2. Cutting down trees, which helps clean the air.
  3. Throwing away too many plastics and other trash.

These bad things trap heat around the Earth, making it warmer. It's like when you wear a big, thick blanket and feel too hot. The Earth is like that, and it's making really big problems like:
