311 - How do our muscles and bones work together?
Imagine your body as a machine. Your bones are like a strong frame that holds everything together, and your muscles are like the workers that move the parts of the machine.
When you want to move, like bend your arm or walk, your brain sends a message to the muscles that are connected to the bones. The muscles then contract, or get shorter, which pulls on the bones and makes them move.
This works because of a special connection between the muscles and bones called a tendon. Tendons are like strings that attach the muscles to the bones. When a muscle contracts, it pulls on the tendon, which makes the bone move.
It's like a big team effort. The bones provide the support and protection, and the muscles do the hard work of moving the body. Together, they help us walk, run, jump, and do all sorts of cool things.
