307 - What are the different types of energy, and where do they come from?
There are several types of energy. Here are the main ones:
Solar Energy: It comes from the sun's rays and heat. We use solar panels to turn sunlight into electricity.
Wind Energy: Wind is used to turn big blades (windmills) that produce electricity.
Hydro Energy: Water from rivers, oceans, or lakes is used to turn turbines (big wheels) to make electricity.
Geothermal Energy: Heat from the Earth's core is used to produce electricity, usually near volcanoes.
Fossil Fuel Energy: It comes from old plants and animals buried underground for millions of years. Examples include coal, oil, and natural gas, which are used to make electricity or fuel.
Nuclear Energy: It's produced by splitting tiny atoms, releasing lots of energy. This energy is used to make electricity.
Biomass Energy: It's made from living things like plants and waste. We burn them to produce electricity or heat.
Each type of energy has its own advantages and disadvantages. Using a mix of these energy sources helps our planet and makes life more comfortable.
