282 - Why do we have different languages around the world?

Imagine the world as a big puzzle, and different languages are like the different pieces that fit together. A long time ago, people lived in separate areas and developed their own ways of communicating, which became their languages.

When people moved to new places or were separated from their families and friends, they took their language with them. Over time, these languages changed and evolved, forming new dialects and languages. This is why we have so many different languages around the world today - over 7,000.
