26 - Why is the sky blue?

The sky appears blue because of the way that light behaves when it enters Earth's atmosphere. When sunlight enters the atmosphere, it is made up of different colors. These colors are like different sized balls.

Blue is the smallest ball, so it scatters (or bounces around) the most. This means that when sunlight enters the atmosphere, the blue color is bouncing around in all directions, making the sky look blue to our eyes.
