256 - How do human activities impact the environment?
Human activities can hurt the environment in many ways. Here are a few examples:
- Pollution: We release pollutants like plastic, chemicals, and gases into the air and water. This harms animals and plants.
- Deforestation: We cut down trees, which makes animals lose their homes and affects the air we breathe.
- Waste: We throw away trash, which can sit in landfills and oceans for a long time.
- Climate change: We burn fossil fuels like coal and gas, which releases greenhouse gases and affects the Earth's temperature.
- Habitat destruction: We build houses and cities, which can destroy habitats for animals and plants.
But the good news is that we can all make a difference by:
- Using less plastic
- Turning off lights and electronics to save energy
- Planting more trees
- Reducing waste
- Using public transport or walking and cycling
Every small action we take can help protect the environment.
