25 - How do the planets move in space?

Imagine you're spinning around in a circle, holding hands with your friends. You're all moving together, right? The planets move in a similar way.

They orbit, or move around, the sun in big circles due to something called gravity. The sun is like a big heavy object that pulls everything towards it, and that's why the planets don't fly off into space.

The planets also spin around themselves, which is why we have day and night. It's like when you twirl around while you're holding hands with your friends, spinning on your own as you move in the circle.
