217 - How does temperature affect the behavior of particles?
Imagine the particles are people at a party.
- When the party is cold (low temperature), the 'people' are slow and lazy, moving little and close together. They don't have much energy.
- As the party warms up (medium temperature), the 'people' start moving more, chatting, and spreading out. They have a bit more energy.
- When the party is super hot (high temperature), the 'people' are super energetic, running around, and moving really fast. They're all over the place!
That's pretty much what happens to particles when the temperature changes. In solids, particles move less at low temperatures. In liquids, they can move more freely. In gases, they can move really fast and spread out.
