Newton's first law of motion is called the "Law of Inertia." It says that an object will stay still or keep moving unless a force acts on it to make it stop or change its motion. Think of it like a ball rolling on the floor. If nothing touches the ball, it will keep rolling until something (like friction or you stopping it) makes it stop.
