193 - How do perfumes get their scents?

Perfumes get their scents from a combination of 'fragrance oils' or 'essences'. These come from three main sources:

  1. Plants: Some plants like flowers (roses, lavender), trees (cedar, sandalwood), and herbs (mint, basil) are used to make perfume scents. Perfume makers extract oils from these plants using special methods.
  2. Animals: Some animals like musk deer and beeswax also give us scents for perfumes. These scents are usually taken from animal products and used in small amounts.
  3. Laboratory: Perfume makers also create scents in a lab using chemicals that mimic natural smells. This way, they can make unique and interesting perfumes.

These fragrance oils are mixed together in different amounts to create unique scents for perfumes.
