176 - What are polymers, and where do we find them?

Polymers are like super-long chains made up of tiny building blocks called molecules. These chains can be very strong and flexible.

You can find polymers in many things around you. Some examples are:

  1. Plastics (like bottles, toys, and bags)
  2. Fabrics (like nylon and polyester)
  3. Wood (it's made of a polymer called cellulose)
  4. Your own body (proteins like skin and hair are made of polymers)
  5. Natural fibers (like wool and silk)

Polymers are all around us and are very useful in many ways.
