176 - What are polymers, and where do we find them?
Polymers are like super-long chains made up of tiny building blocks called molecules. These chains can be very strong and flexible.
You can find polymers in many things around you. Some examples are:
- Plastics (like bottles, toys, and bags)
- Fabrics (like nylon and polyester)
- Wood (it's made of a polymer called cellulose)
- Your own body (proteins like skin and hair are made of polymers)
- Natural fibers (like wool and silk)
Polymers are all around us and are very useful in many ways.
