1696 - What is Faraday's law of induction?

Faraday's Law of Induction is a scientific rule discovered by Michael Faraday. It says that when a magnetic field around a coil of wire changes, it creates electricity in the wire.

Imagine you have a coil of wire and a magnet. If you move the magnet in and out of the coil, the changing magnetic field creates electricity in the wire. This is how things like generators and power plants work to make electricity.
