1648 - What is the general expression for gravitational potential energy and elastic potential energy.
The general expressions for the two types of potential energy are:
Gravitational Potential Energy (GPE or PEg): GPE = mgh Where 'm' is mass, 'g' is the acceleration due to gravity, and 'h' is the height above the ground level.
Elastic Potential Energy (EPE): EPE = (1/2)kx^2 Where 'k' is the spring constant, and 'x' is how much the spring is stretched or compressed from its normal position.
