162 - What is the difference between physical and chemical changes?
Imagine you have an ice cube.
A physical change is when it melts (ice turns to water) or freezes (water turns to ice), but it's still water. This is like a change in how the water looks, but it's still the same thing. You can still drink it as water.
A chemical change is when something new is created. For example, if you mix baking soda and vinegar, it creates a new substance (carbon dioxide) that makes bubbles. This is a change in what the substance is made of.
So, the main difference is: - Physical change: Something looks different but stays the same. - Chemical change: Something changes into something new.
