In plant bodies, there are six levels of organization:
- Cell: The basic unit of a plant, where all life processes happen.
- Tissue: A group of similar cells working together, like a leaf's epidermal tissue.
- Organ: A group of different tissues that work together to perform a specific function, like a leaf or stem.
- System: A group of organs that work together to perform a specific function, like the root system for absorbing water and nutrients.
- Organ system: A group of different systems that work together to keep the plant alive, like the root and stem systems working together.
- Organism: The whole plant itself, made up of different organ systems all working together to keep the plant alive and healthy.
