1516 - How does water temperature affect the degree to which matter dissolves in water.

Imagine water as a big container. When you heat the water (make it hotter), the water molecules start moving really fast, like they're dancing. This creates more space between the molecules.

When you add something like sugar or salt to the hot water, the fast-moving water molecules can easily find their way around the sugar or salt particles, making it easier for them to dissolve.

On the other hand, when you cool the water (make it colder), the water molecules slow down and move closer together. There's less space for the particles to dissolve, making it harder for things to dissolve in the water.

So, generally, hot water is better at dissolving things than cold water.
