1515 - What are the types and properties of solutions.
There are three main types of solutions:
Homogeneous Solution: A mixture where the particles are evenly spread out and you can't see the different parts. Examples: sugar water or salt water.
Heterogeneous Solution: A mixture where you can see the different parts, like particles floating or settling. Examples: muddy water or sand in water.
Now, let's talk about the properties of solutions:
Concentration: How much of one substance is mixed with another. It can be strong or weak.
Solvent: The liquid that dissolves the other substance (called the solute).
Solute: The substance that is being dissolved.
Saturation: When the solution can't dissolve any more of the solute.
