An atom is made up of three main parts:

  1. Protons: They are the tiny, positively charged particles in the center of the atom.
  2. Neutrons: These are little particles with no charge that join the protons in the center of the atom.
  3. Electrons: They are tiny, negatively charged particles that move around the center of the atom.
