145 - What is the role of chlorophyll in photosynthesis?
Chlorophyll is a green substance in plants that helps them make food from sunlight. Its main role is to catch the sunlight's energy, especially the blue and red light. This energy is then used to turn water and a gas called carbon dioxide into a type of sugar that the plant can eat. Without chlorophyll, plants wouldn't be able to make food from sunlight.
