1438 - What is the genetic material composed of?

The genetic material is called DNA (short for Deoxyribonucleic acid), and it's composed of four building blocks called 'nucleotides' or 'bases.'

  1. Adenine (A)
  2. Guanine (G)
  3. Cytosine (C)
  4. Thymine (T)

These four bases are arranged in a special order to create a unique blueprint for your body, kind of like a set of instructions that helps you grow and function properly.
