1408 - What is the scale relationship between different objects.
Imagine you have a dollhouse and a real house. The dollhouse is a miniature version of the real house, but much smaller. If the dollhouse was 1/10th the size of the real house, that means if the dollhouse had a door that was 2 inches tall, the real door would be 20 inches tall.
There are some examples of scales:
- 1:10 means the model is 1/10th the size of the real thing.
- 1:50 means the model is 1/50th the size of the real thing.
- 1:1 means the model is the same size as the real thing (not really a model, but the actual thing).
Scales help us understand how big or small things are compared to other things.
