14 - How does the sun produce energy?

The sun produces energy through a process called nuclear fusion. Here's how it works:

  1. The sun is a huge ball of gas, mostly made of hydrogen.
  2. At its core, the sun is extremely hot (about 15 million degrees Celsius).
  3. In this heat, hydrogen atoms melt and stick together, creating a new element called helium.
  4. This process releases a lot of energy in the form of light and heat.
  5. The light and heat then travel from the sun to our planet, giving us warmth and light.

Think of it like a huge fire, burning hydrogen and creating energy that travels all the way to our world.
