1305 - Why do the sea currents near Taiwan vary by season.
The sea currents near Taiwan vary by season because of the changing wind patterns.
In Taiwan, there are two main seasons that affect the sea currents:
Monsoon season (May to October): During this time, warm winds come from the south and push the water north. As a result, the sea currents in Taiwan go northward, bringing in warm water from the Philippines and Indonesia.
Northeast Monsoon season (November to April): In this season, cold winds blow from the northeast. These winds push the water south, so the sea currents in Taiwan flow southward, bringing in cold water from China and Japan.
These seasonal changes affect the temperature, fish populations, and also help shape Taiwan's coastline.
