13 - Why do we have day and night?

We have day and night because of the Earth's movement. The Earth rotates on its side, and it takes 24 hours to complete one full turn.

Imagine you're holding a flashlight, and you shine it on a ball (the Earth). As the ball spins, different parts of the ball get lit up (day), and different parts get dark (night). That's what happens with the Earth and the sun's light. When the part where you live is facing the sun, you have day. When it's facing away, you have night.
