1269 - What are the components of the Earth?

The Earth is made up of four main components:

  1. Crust: The outer layer, which is where we live. It's broken into big pieces called continents and oceans.
  2. Mantle: A thick layer under the crust made of hot, melted rock that can flow slowly.
  3. Outer Core: A liquid layer of iron and nickel that's really, really hot. It helps make the Earth's magnetic field.
  4. Inner Core: A solid ball at the very center of the Earth, also made of iron and nickel, with super high temperatures and pressure.

These four components work together to make our amazing planet.
