1105 - How do tools or standards measure and compare?
Tools and standards help us measure and compare by setting a common point of reference. This is so everyone knows what we're talking about and comparing to.
Think of a ruler. A ruler is a tool that measures length. It has marks on it, like inches or centimeters. When you use a ruler to measure something, you know exactly how long it is. If someone else uses the same ruler to measure something else, you can compare the two lengths because you both used the same standard (the ruler).
Standards can be things like:
- Units of measurement (like inches or meters)
- Recipes for cooking
- Rules for a game
- Even things like grammar rules for writing
By using the same tools and standards, we can compare and understand things better.
