11 - Why do some animals hibernate?

Hibernation is like a long winter's sleep for some animals. They do it to stay safe and warm when it's cold outside and they can't find much food.

During hibernation, their body temperature drops, and they use less energy. It's like their body goes into a "low power mode" to help them survive the winter months. When spring comes and it gets warmer, they wake up and start looking for food again.
