1072 - Why is the natural world composed of different materials
Imagine you have a big box of LEGO bricks with many different shapes and colors. These LEGO bricks represent tiny particles called atoms, which are the building blocks of everything around us.
Just like how you can connect LEGO bricks together in different ways to make various things, like a house or a car, atoms combine in different ways to make different materials, like wood, metal, or plastic.
There are around 100 different kinds of atoms, and when they combine, they form over 4 million known compounds, such as water, sand, or salt. These compounds then come together to form the rocks, soil, air, and water that make up our natural world.
Think of it like a giant LEGO creation, where tiny atoms are the individual bricks that are connected to make the world we live in. This is why the natural world is composed of different materials.
