1071 - Why is the sky blue?

The sky appears blue because of a thing called light scattering. When sunlight enters Earth's atmosphere, it encounters tiny molecules of gases like nitrogen and oxygen. These molecules scatter the shorter, blue wavelengths of light more than the longer, red wavelengths. This scattering sends the blue light in all directions, reaching our eyes and making the sky appear blue.
