1045 - What is the difference between an atom and a molecule?

Imagine you have LEGO blocks.

An atom is like a single LEGO block. It's the smallest unit of something (like a single piece of an element).

A molecule is like many LEGO blocks connected together. It's when two or more atoms of the same or different elements are stuck together to form something new.

For example, water is made up of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. So, a water molecule is like three LEGO blocks connected together (H2O).
