Science Common Sense
1032 - What is the difference between a predator and prey?
Imagine you're in a forest with animals.
- A 'predator' is an animal that hunts and eats other animals. For example, lions hunt and eat zebras.
- A 'prey' is an animal that is hunted and eaten by a predator. In this example, the zebra is the prey.
So, one animal (the predator) is doing the hunting, and the other animal (the prey) is trying to stay safe and not get eaten.
