1031 - What is the difference between a plant cell and an animal cell?
A plant cell and an animal cell are different in a few ways:
- Cell Wall: Plant cells have a strong outer wall that helps them stand up straight. Animal cells don't have this wall.
- Chloroplasts: Plant cells have chloroplasts, which help them make food from sunlight. Animal cells don't have chloroplasts.
- Vacuoles: Plant cells have big vacuoles to store food and water. Animal cells have smaller vacuoles.
- Lysosomes: Animal cells have lysosomes to break down and recycle things. Plant cells also have lysosomes, but they're not as important.
- Cilia: Some animal cells have cilia (like tiny hairs) to move things. Plant cells don't have cilia.
These are the main differences between plant and animal cells!
